I no longer let others control my feelings, especially the feeling of security. I feel confident in my intuition and my own abilities. I understand that making mistakes is human and a part of discovery.

When I paint, I think about many things, mostly life and why we are here. I think about my choices in life and what inspired them. I think about events that led me to specific ways of thinking. I think about where these influences come from and how I can change them to become someone new.

My work comes purely from the subconscious. Sometimes I look at it after I’ve finished and can honestly say creating it was a blur.

On my daily walks through New York City, I am bombarded by many things, situations and people. I pull inspiration not just from what’s happening around me, but also what’s going on below me. The sidewalks of New York are a great inspiration for me.

They represent us. We are all living in these little universes of past lives, past experiences, hopes, and dreams evolving in our own little solar system surrounded by others just the same.

The PAST LIVES series is not about perfection. It’s about the beauty of our messy human journey and the lost dreams that whisper to us in the night. The soul carries a message throughout the ages and our many lives.
